Rita R. Clark, (LMSW) Director of Programs – YouthVille Detroit

A member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Rita Clark is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University’s Masters of Social Work Program. She holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism from Wayne State University, and a graduate of University of Michigan’s Department of Social Work Sexual Health Certificate Program in Sex Education, Counseling and Therapy.  Her certification adds to a long list of professional training, education and youth and family services.

Rita’s 20 plus years of professional work history extends from youth sports and recreation, collegiate instruction, grief, loss and trauma, juvenile justice, foster care, wraparound, multisystem therapy, substance abuse counseling, prison re-entry, employability training, grant writing, youth leadership development, restorative practice, program design, community project coordination, implementation and youth media training.

Lauren Ramsey, MPH

Lauren Ramsey holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology from Michigan State University and a Master of Science degree in Public Health / Health Behavior & Health Education from the University of Michigan.

Lauren has worked with the Michigan Department of Community Health, The National Kidney Foundation of Michigan and Wayne State University/Karmanos Cancer Institute to address racial/ethnic health disparities in the African American community in the areas of diabetes, breast and prostate cancer.  She is passionate about the health of African American women and girls and addressing the root causes of poor health in the community. Her experiences have allowed her to engage with community members and create culturally relevant health education materials including a toolkit aimed at addressing health equity in Michigan.  Lauren is dedicated to educating and raising awareness about the various health issues that disproportionately impact communities of color.

Jenine Clements

Jenine Clements holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Studies from Michigan State University and is certified in ISTDI (Introduction to Sexually Transmitted Disease Intervention) and HIV counseling.

Over the last 10 years, Jenine has worked with the Michigan Department of Community Health (MDCH) for the Detroit Surveillance and Intervention Program as a Disease Intervention Specialist (DIS).  She conducts HIV/STD investigations, interviews and counseling sessions for infected/affected individuals. She also provides testing and education on prevention.

A woman with four sisters, it inspires Jenine to empathize with, educate and mentor young women regarding issues their facing or will face in the future.

Paula Sirls

Paula Sirls is a Program Manager for Gospel Against AIDS and the Positive Support Organization.  In addition, Paula is a speaker for the Michigan Speakers Bureau.

Sha’Malia Willis

A member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Sha’Malia Willis holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Advertising and Marketing Management with minors in Social Science and Mathematics from Northwood University, and a Master of Arts degree in Secondary Education from Grand Canyon University.

Melnevia Whaley

A member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, a professional dancer, Melnevia Whaley holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Marketing from Michigan State University.

Evelyn Postell-Franklin

Evelyn Postell-Franklin is an HIV activist and counselor, operating as a Program Coordinator for Wayne State University Physician’s Group in conjunction with Sinai-Grace Hospital of Detroit.

Tagan Lee

Tagan Lee is a creative and passionate public relations and marketing professional and Founder of Tagan Lee & Associates (TLA) – a pr/marketing/communications firm in Los Angeles, CA. Tagan has a combined 11 years of professional experience in film and television, corporate public relations and expanding brands.  She has helped with developing strategic film campaign proposals, garnered extensive targeted media coverage in the African American/urban community, created press releases, bios, media coaching, sphere-headed social network campaigns, conceptualized/created marketing materials, coordinated special events, and a host of other communications activities and materials.

Tagan’s specialty is with regional/national outreach to the African-American community through television, print, online and radio media outlets where she focuses on the underserved market — with billions of spending dollars for her various accounts.

Tamu Davis

Tamu Davis is the President and Founder of TAMU Artist Agency – Established in 2004, The TAMU Artist Agency, a boutique agency specializing in attention to client and artists needs, is proud to represent a selective blend of the most innovative and professional hairstylists, makeup artists, wardrobe stylists, prop stylists, set designers, manicurists, photographers, commercial and music video directors in the entertainment industry.

Their artists work consistently with leading celebrities in the film, television, music and editorial markets.  They approach each artist/project individually. Their age, music, target market and personalities all play a role in creating a visual presence for the talent and client. The visual impact of the talent is their business and driving force. Their clients receive the one on one attention and communication that can only be found in the boutique setting. The team dynamic that the Agency offers, results in the unique and consistent quality delivered on every project.

Kerry-Ann Ellington

Upon graduating from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Kerry-Ann relocated to California to pursue her true passion, acting. Kerry-Ann’s ability to work in film, theatre, television, commercial, as well as modeling proves her versatility, tenacity and passion for the entertainment industry. She currently resides in Southern, CA with her husband – a First Sergeant in the Marine Corps, their 3 gorgeous boys and their family dog.

Besides nurturing her own talent as an actress, Kerry-Ann is also a community activist. She lends a hand to various organizations in support of military families. She works as a Community Outreach Event Manager for the Semper Fi Fund, an organization that provides financial assistance to Marines and Sailors who were injured after 9/11. With such a strong presence within the military community, Kerry-Ann was blessed with the opportunity to meet one of her long time idols, Ms. Oprah Winfrey, along with 29 other hard working and dedicated military spouses. Kerry-Ann  was a recipient of “Oprah’s Favorite Things 2012.”

She is also the Co-Founder of “A Walking Virtue,” an organization which provides women who are victims of domestic abuse with support and resources to help them get over the abuse and back on their feet.

As a board member for S.T.A.R. Foundation, Kerry-Ann loves assisting with the organization’s mission to provide a foundation of self-respect within girls and young women through mentoring, educating and promoting the importance of living a healthy lifestyle.

In her spare time, Kerry-Ann loves doing fun activities with her family and friends. She enjoys cooking, baking, writing, reading and a sinful obsession with board games 🙂
